Dear Representative Doerge,
As you campaign for reelection, I want to add my voice to help make voters aware of the contributions you make to the important matters that shape the future of our region.
I've had the pleasure of working with you in the course of my volunteer service on the Sparta Commission and the board of the Watershed District in Claiborne Parish. Whatever the hour, whatever the distance, you've always been there with answers, pulling the parts together to make things happen. And drawing upon your years of experience as a teacher and legislator, you've enlightened many a meeting on water resources, workforce training, and economic development.
Northwest Louisiana is stronger for your efforts.
When I think of you, I think of grace, warmth, strength, courage, intelligence, experience, and commitment to the community. You appreciate, encourage, inspire. You are among the finest
role models for our leaders-to-be whom I have known.
It is always a privilege to work with you to improve our region. I wish you the best in your campaign.
Yours,
Alice Stewart
Jean Doerge supports industrial development in Webster Parish.
Late last year the Chief Executive Officer of Continental Structural Plastics, Bruce Landino, conveyed in a letter from the corporate offices in Troy, Michigan to Representative Jean Doerge an appreciation of her continuing supportive and very effective efforts to promote industrial development in Webster Parish. The letter cited her enthusastic and most effective efforts to attract new, quality manufacturing companies and her follow-on efforts to facilitate their establishment as a Louisiana company in Webster Parish.
The decision to locate a new plant is the easier first-step. Assembling and applying the necessary capital, material and personnel reources on a timely basis is a very difficult second step. Representative Doerge's efforts on behalf of CSP in Baton Rouge were instrumental in enabling the company to gain an effective relationship with a range of state agencies regarding various state permits, tax regulations, labor hiring assistance and important economic incentives.
She personally involved herself so that the company could make its various deadlines to create a manufacturing plant that met strict customer quality and delivery requirements. An early result in creating the plant in Springhill in 2001-2002 was the creation of more than 200 new jobs and a large monthly payroll in the parish.
